Protection of bird sancutaries

In the bird hunting sector, hunters have formed an association with strict rules and increased enforcement for the closed season, which runs from January 1st to June 30th, and the open season, which runs from July 1st to December 1st. The Bird Hunters Association has a committee which conducts sanctuary patrols twice a month, quarterly bird censuses (on the 15th of January, April, July and October) and awareness campaigns about bird management. Bird hunting is an important livelihood in this area and conservation and protection of bird sanctuaries is crucial to maintaining the sustainability of bird hunting. This adaptation fits within climatic pressures on income sources and livelihoods in the region.
